Storyboard and Character Design

Become your own director and create a scenario that expresses a thought clearly and exaggerated! In this course, you will learn methods that set the narrative in motion in a sequence of images (see comic strip, graphic novel) and create a surprising turning point, the famous “cliffhanger,” and every viewer asks themselves what's next?

We create a character. Some basic techniques are taught which show how to develop a character step by step. Then we throw our protagonist into a scene, or lovingly place him in an unfamiliar environment and be surprised how he masters his fate. In a small sequence of actions, you bring your idea to life. The course provides the basic skills of “camera work,” figure in space and dramaturgical enhancement with light, color, movement and perspective distortion.

Requirements/participants:

For adults and young adults aged 16 and over with previous drawing skills.

Material:

• pencil, various degrees of hardness
• colored pencils, or optionally your own preferences for drawing materials, e.g. ink & brush, fineliner, pen, Copic marker
• various drawing papers DIN A4 or A3
• Who likes their sketchbook, transparent paper or layout paper pad
• sharpener, eraser, cutter
